EXPLANATION OF THE END OF EPISODE 6 OF TALES OF THE WALKING DEAD

The death of María and her friends must have created immense guilt and pain in Idalia’s mind, which was further aggravated by the death of Doña Alma. In her mind, she was directly or indirectly responsible for several deaths, including those of Doña Alma and María.

Such a belief must have created visions of the ghost of the medicine woman and the walkers that she “sees” in the basement of the house. The ghost and walkers may be hallucinations created by Idalia’s guilty conscience.

The same must have affected Eric, who sees the dead Maria alive. Since Eric shares his life with Idalia since the apocalypse, they must both be suffering from insanity, which makes them think that they are both affected by the imaginary ghost and walkers.

To the Tales of the Walking Dead episode 6 ending, as possible paranoia takes over Idalia and Eric’s minds, the latter begins to blame the former. Suddenly, Doña Alma’s imaginary ghost appears and “drags” them into the basement, which may be the duo pushing into the basement in reality.

Eric, believing that Idalia’s spirit is creating the ghost and the marauders, stabs her to death to end her paranoia as well. During the fight at the end of the Tales of the Walking Dead episode 6Idalia must have managed to stab Eric to save herself from him as well.

Based on the stab wounds Idalia and Eric may have inflicted on each other, they are most likely dead. The episode gives no indication that they are alive. As Doña Alma’s house is isolated and closed, there is no one to help them recover from the stabbing. Their physical state, if they have survived, may not allow them to heal as well. Given these factors, the pair must have perished.f
